Northern Safety Camera Partnership Manager, Dougie Bennion, said:

“The Partnership operates an intelligence-led casualty reduction strategy that is responsive to information collected from ‘speed monitoring’ and ‘casualty and collision’ data.  By deploying mobile safety camera units at sites that have accrued a casualty and collision history the Partnership aims to encourage drivers to slow down in a bid to help reduce the number and severity of road casualties in the Scottish Highlands.  Keep up to date about our deployment intentions on ‘Twitter’ @NorthernSCP.”

All our camera sites have a proven history of collisions and evidence of speeding vehicles.  We may from time to time use mobile cameras at other sites where both vehicle and road users are at greater risk, such as road works.
